Functional Expert I - III

Essential Duties:  Ability to apply an extensive knowledge of advanced theories, concepts and principles in the broad field of computer engineering and related technologies to the resolution of major controversial problems.  Development of novel approaches; settlement of conflicts; and attainment of broad objectives in assigned programs.  Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates assigned programs involving the exploitation and development of new or improved software engineering technology, methods techniques, principles and/or mission support/enterprise systems.  Provide infrastructure and automation services, support, and technology that will optimize the effectiveness of the organization's operations.  Provides coordination and oversight for SECs (Software Capability Evaluations) and provides consultation guidance to system functional areas.  Provides Life Cycle Software Engineering (LCSE) services to customers. Services rendered include all activities necessary to ensure the reliability, maintainability, interoperability and configuration integrity of the software components.  Provides software development infrastructure and software engineering expertise to rapidly developing/transitioning prototype software systems.  Provide customers with quick reaction software application and development facility.  Formulate technical requirements and procurement data; evaluate contractor proposals; provide technical guidance to contractors, review, evaluate and summarize contractor's technical and progress reports and ensuring that the technical provision of specifications are met.  

Functional Expert I Bachelor’s Degree plus 8 years experience
Functional Expert II Bachelor’s Degree plus 10 years experience
Functional Expert III Bachelor’s Degree plus 15 years experience
